Blue Heaven at the farm! The scent of Lavender brings us back to ancient civilizations that cut it for its scent and astringent value 26,000 years ago. When we smell Lavender, we already "know" the scent even if we've never smelled it before! The scent is a genetic memory...that's why we breathe a sigh of a-maze-ment when we smell it...what more can I say, that's why I grow it--my roots run deep... Just like at Blue Heaven in Key West, we say "Who's got the blues?"! |

A Farm for The New Millenium Quintessential Gardens at Fort Hill Farms is Farming for the New Millenium and agriculture at its finest. We grow plants organically in the garden for a year, then re-pot them for sale in the nursery. We don't spray them w/herbicides to kill the weeds. We don't spray pesticides on them like all the other nurseries do--we have ducks and guinea hens to eat all the bugs. Nursery plants are normally sprayed 3-4x/season for weeds, and then 2-3x/season for bugs! People don't realize this because they can't "see" the chemicals, and they're certainly not there when they're sprayed! The Essence of Herbalism Apprentice Program combines hands-on experience w/classroom learning and field study. This program is designed to teach you to identify plants in the wild, how to make your own herbal products & your own medicine! Classes $50 ea. 10am - 2 pm. Bring your lunch! Our focus will be on the plants themselves. We will come to them as our teachers; the fields and forests as our classroom. We will learn by seeing, touching, tasting, smelling, experiencing, listening. Learning the wisdom of plants opens one up to a whole new exciting part of life, the world of Nature, one that Michael is more than qualified to speak on. These teachings instill w/in us the vitality of the wild, invigorating our spirits, nourishing our bodies, bringing radiant health and healing to our lives. The rewards are enriching and enlightening. Be prepared that studying herbal wisdom will help you make changes in your life. The love of herbs will become a life-long endeavor. Our PRIMARY FOCUS will be to enhance a deep loving relationship w/the Earth, so that we can walk gently, in harmony and balance w/all of life. If this is the year you wish to enter the world of herbs, register early to reserve your place: SEIZE TODAY!
